Coalition Gives Praise About Prabowo's Honesty Regarding Imam Salat
Topik Nasional. Jakarta - Prabowo Subianto feels that he is not fit to be the imam of the prayer. The recognition of the number 02 presidential candidate reaped flattery from political parties that supported him in the 2019 Election.
"I can't be the imam of the prayer, he said. Yes, I know myself, right? The person who becomes the priest must be someone who has higher knowledge," Prabowo said in Sentul, Bogor, Monday (12/17/2018).
This was conveyed by Prabowo when addressing the Gerindra National Conference in front of the Gerindra Party cadre. The speech was broadcast live on the big screen outside the conference program, which could be witnessed by the public and journalists.
Prabowo did not refer to who he was addressing. However, what is certain is that before Prabowo delivered this, there was the Chairman of the East Java Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (Kadin) La Nyalla Mattalitti who challenged Prabowo to become the imam of the prayer.
"I am not afraid to admit, I feel I am not worthy of being the imam of the prayer. It is better that I follow the priest who has more knowledge than me. Why am I lying? What am I pretending to you? If I don't understand, I ask, 'Mr. Ustaz , What to do?' He explained, Pak Ustaz, is Islam a radical religion? Oh, it is not true. They teach our Islam Islam which is rahmatan lil alamin. Our Islam is Islam that protects all in the universe, "Prabowo said.
Prabowo's political parties immediately threw praise at the lord's presidential candidate. As stated by PKS Director of Pencapresan Suhud Alynudin who called Prabowo an honest figure.
"Pak Prabowo has been honest about his capacity in terms of religion. Therefore, in this matter, he entrusts those who have more competence," Suhud said.
"We think this attitude is in line with the principles in Islamic teachings, where people who have more Islamic scientific capacity have the right to become imam salat," he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary General of PAN Faldo Maldini considered Prabowo's attitude showed that the General Chairman of the Gerindra Party strongly believed in the teachings of the ulama. He then insinuated the stronghold of Joko Widodo (Jokowi) -Ma'ruf Amin who instead invited debates showing piety.
"He is often with ulama. He is a figure who strongly believes in the scientific authority of the ulamas, from any school, graduates of any scholarly tradition, who have studied with scholars. I don't think anyone dares to take the priest's prayer. if faced with a situation like that, "said Faldo.
As for DPP Board of Trustees Gerindra Habiburokhman, Prabowo's speech touched his heart. Prabowo is considered as a person who is reluctant to pretend just for the sake of imaging.
"I was present yesterday and heard a speech 08 (Prabowo). Frankly I was touched and shed tears at how sincere he was. He did not want to pretend just for imaging," Habiburokhman said.
Habiburokhman assessed that not many leaders have attitudes like Prabowo. He is also concerned that there are currently many people who make religion an imaging tool.
"I don't think we have a lot of stock of honest leaders like him. On the contrary, we are concerned lately it seems that there are many people who make religion just as an image," he said.
