The event occurred on Thursday (12/20/2018) at around 15.45 WIB. At that time heavy rains flushed Wonogiri since 14.00 WIB.

Head of Wonogiri BPBD, Bambang Haryanto, said that the condition of the fence is indeed quite fragile due to age.

"Plus, because of the stagnant water on the wall. Because it can't hold, it finally collapses," Bambang said.


As a result, the 10 meter wall fell towards the road body. Traffic also had to be diverted because the ruins of the wall disturbed the speed of the vehicle.

"The traffic had been diverted for almost an hour. We and other officers immediately cleared the location," he said.


The loss from this event is estimated at Rp 30 million. The government plans to immediately build the collapsed fence wall.
